Job Description:

The role is within a family established Independent Connections Provider (ICP) business. This business supplies civil engineering and utilities work across the entire UK - they are also the largest water service supplier in the East Midlands and have some major contacts in the industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing several projects throughout the region
  • Pre-starting meetings through to installation and connections
  • As-laid takeoffs/measurements
  • Order plant/materials for schemes based on approved designs
  • Managing direct employees and subcontractors
  • Maintaining health and safety and site audits
  • Dealing with technical issues
  • Liaising with clients and maintaining relationships

Requirements:

  • SHEA qualifications in Gas and/or Water
  • Gas GNO 1,2&5
  • Previous experience in Utilities Water and/or Gas preferred
  • IOSH
  • NRSWA
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Ensure that Audits and TBTs are carried out every month
  • Ensuring the teams adhere to company policies when completing projects
  • Ensuring all incidents are reported immediately with written reports carried out within 24 hours of the incident occurring, ensuring any disciplinary action is taken in conjunction with HR, where necessary
  • Office drawings to be kept up to date and always live
  • Efficient Planning, management and co-ordination of all utility work on each scheme from start to finish including design handovers, pre-start meetings, onsite/offsite mains laying, Streetworks notices and permits, commissioning of all utilities, plot connections, walk offs, and communication with the client throughout
  • All pre-sites should be documented and uploaded onto the system
  • To always provide an excellent service to all our clients with clear and concise communication
  • Management of MU operatives and subcontractors to maximise efficiencies and drive production whilst ensuring that operatives work their contractual hours
  • Performance manage teams and carry out appraisals when required
