Requirements

A recognised Engineering apprenticeship to ONC/HNC or equivalent Engineering qualification
Some working knowledge of electrical controls (PLCs, Contactors, Relays, VSDs etc.)
Working knowledge of weighing and tension systems (Load cells etc.)
An understanding of pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Experience of engineering systems to include planned preventative maintenance
A keen interest and understanding of engineering principles
Be detailed, thorough, and accurate
Strong organisational and time management skills
Organised and calm under pressure
Proactive, positive, enthusiastic

Job Responsibility

To ensure that all equipment on site is in a safe condition and complies with current Health & Safety Legislation
To respond to machine faults across site, as directed by the Engineering Cell Managers / Production Manager / Team leaders
To complete Planned Preventative Maintenance as directed by Engineering Management
To complete breakdown and maintenance records for all work undertaken on site
To interact with onsite Engineering stores personnel, to include but not be restricted to, booking parts out of stores, assisting in sourcing alternative parts where the original is not available, returning unused parts to stores
To take part in meetings, supervision, training as requested
To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post

Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption.
Following engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site.
Ensuring all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer.
Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues.
Demonstrating basic fault finding techniques to identify root cause of issues.
Raising Stock and Non-Stock request forms.
Use of the CMMS system for spare parts, to log and complete jobs.
