Job Responsibility

  • Support the engineering team by carrying out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes
  • Use initiative to identify areas that will improve the production performance, line utilisation and focus on reducing scrap levels
  • Provide maintenance support regarding projects
  • Work on a large variety of equipment including – gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, drives, inverters, relays, sensors, conveyor systems and PLC’s

Requirements

  • Multi skilled engineer – ideally electrical bias but will consider mechanical bias. 60:40 split
  • Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3
  • Worked within manufacturing
  • Strong problem solving/fault finding ability and experience

  • Following engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
  • Demonstrating basic fault finding techniques to identify root cause of issues
  • Raising Stock and Non-Stock request forms
  • Use of the CMMS system for spare parts, to log and complete jobs
