Requirements

Fully qualified (Onsite Apprenticeship / NVQ / BTEC / HNC / HND)
Background in fast-paced manufacturing or production (FMCG/Packaging preferred)
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Root Cause Problem Solving
Must pass vetting, including Right to Work, medical, and Drug & Alcohol tests

Job Responsibility

Perform preventative and breakdown repairs on conveyors, PLCs, 3-phase motors, and automated controls
Conduct dynamic risk assessments and ensure strict adherence to H&S and hygiene regulations
Identify and source parts through engineering stores while maintaining high workmanship standards
Work with the Engineering Manager, Operations, and OEMs to improve asset performance

Job Responsibility

Taking a lead role within your team during breakdowns with your skills and experience
Ensuring that maintenance is carried out in line with PPM schedules and that effective and efficient corrective action is taken
Quick and effective response to breakdowns in more than one area on site, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting possible improvements to prevent further breakdowns occurring
Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption
Following engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site
Ensuring all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer
Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
Demonstrating basic fault finding techniques to identify root cause of issues
Raising Stock and Non-Stock request forms
Use of the CMMS system for spare parts, to log and complete jobs
