Job Description

SRG are currently working with a growing manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support operations within a fast‑paced production environment. The role focuses on maximising equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with GMP, SOP, and Health & Safety standards.

Job Responsibility

  • carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems
  • supporting breakdowns
  • maintaining accurate documentation
  • assisting with machinery installation and improvement projects
  • working closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams

Requirements

  • Time‑served engineer with recognised electrical apprenticeship, and/or qualifciation (e.g. HNC, HND, etc. )
  • Skilled in Electrical and Mechanical maintenance experience, ideally holding 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • Strong fault‑finding skills on PLCs, 3‑phase systems, motors, drives, sensors, and relays

  • Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption
  • Following engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out within health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
  • Demonstrating basic fault finding techniques to identify root cause of issues
  • Raising Stock and Non-Stock request forms
  • Use of the CMMS system for spare parts, to log and complete jobs
