Job Description:

Are you a reliable, experienced Groundworker looking or your next long term opportunity across the Wirral and surrounding areas? If you take pride in quality workmanship and want to join a supportive, well established team, this role is for you!

Job Responsibility:

  • Organise time and resources effectively to deliver multiskilled work and repairs
  • Complete all tasks to the required quality standards within agreed targets and timescales
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and liaise with the resource planning team, working supervisors, and service managers as required
  • Work as a multiskilled operative, carrying out tasks across a range of trades including patch plastering, wall and floor tiling, minor plumbing and other trade activities
  • Carry out programmed and reactive maintenance within domestic properties
  • Undertake full multi‑trade and ground working duties
  • Repair and install timber fencing and gates
  • Remove, relay, or lay new flagstones and paving
  • Identify and rectify groundwork defects
  • Prepare and lay concrete paths, ramps, and footings for brickwork
  • Excavate and renew concrete floors
  • Lift, relay and renew paving slabs
  • Rake out and re‑point brickwork
  • Renew bituminous damp proof courses
  • Drill and inject liquid damp proof courses
  • Work at heights using ladders and scaffolding
  • Work in confined spaces and varying site conditions
  • Carry out duties safely, following all relevant procedures and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Completed a recognised Apprenticeship and hold a relevant NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in groundworks
  • GCSE or equivalent standard in Maths and English
  • Recognised qualification in plumbing/ plastering or other building trade or trades
  • Fully competent in all aspects of the joinery trade discipline
  • Experience carrying out maintenance work in domestic and commercial properties, including high rise buildings, covering general repairs and refurbishment tasks
  • Strong background in joinery with the ability to work safety and effectively in confined spaces
  • Full UK driving license required to operate grounds maintenance machinery and drive a company vehicle
