Job Description:

We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on individual with a strong electrical background to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You’ll be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and improving automated equipment and systems within a busy poultry hatchery environment – playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of the plant and profitability. Carrying out tasks to the highest standard
  • To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety Standards
  • Provide full emergency breakdown cover for all plant and services
  • Complete all work sheets and report any problems and follow ups required, including Planned Maintenance work sheets, handover sheets
  • Maintain a high standard of work and promote good housekeeping throughout the hatchery and workshop
  • Administer, monitor, analyse and update machine history data using the engineering maintenance management system
  • Provide first line cover in all hatchery machinery problems
  • Be proactive with ideas for improving the plant and engineering departments
  • Provide ideas on cost cutting measures
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to help maintain efficiency and throughputs withing the hatchery and reduce downtime

Requirements:

  • A genuine interest and experience in engineering, mechanics, and automation and how things work with a strong electrical background
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability, attention to detail, motivation, and a willingness to learn
  • A full UK driving licence
