Exciting Opportunity: Multiskilled Shift Engineer – Speke. Are you a skilled engineer looking for a fulfilling career with a leading transport provider? Arriva is seeking a dedicated Multiskilled Shift Engineer (PSV Mechanic) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and servicing our modern fleet of North West buses.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards
  • Improve vehicle reliability through proactive and reactive servicing
  • Perform MOT prep, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance checks
  • Carry out diagnostic fault finding and implement lasting repairs
  • Work a variety of shift patterns

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in PSV, HGV, or (or equivalent international qualification – subject to verification)
  • OR at least 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
  • Fit to pass a PCV pre-employment medical

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across extrusion and converting machinery
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns across production lines
  • Fault-find on motors, drives, inverters, sensors, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain and repair vacuum conveying systems including vac pumps, hoppers, and load cells
  • Support maintenance of blown film extrusion lines and downstream equipment
  • Work on slitter rewinders, bagging machines, recycling systems, and film handling equipment
  • Carry out strip down, inspection, repair, and rebuild of mechanical and electrical components
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with strict health & safety and quality standards
  • Work closely with production teams to maintain consistent output and efficiency
