We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Multiskilled Engineer with an electrical bias who takes ownership across electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation tasks. You’ll help keep our site running reliably, safely, and efficiently - and be a key technical partner across the whole plant.

Job Responsibility:

  • Owning electrical compliance on site (inspection/testing regimes, corrective actions, records)
  • Supporting site infrastructure, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Working safely on systems operating up to 415v, with awareness of higher voltage where required
  • Acting as a point of contact for electrical technical decisions and contractor quality
  • Driving electrical reliability improvements and repeat-failure elimination
  • Commissioning, validating, calibrating, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and field devices (instrumentation)
  • Electrical control systems, solenoids, contactors, trips, isolators, and utilities including chillers, compressors and steam boilers
  • Maintaining accurate documentation — including drawings, specifications and maintenance records
  • Supporting installation, testing and commissioning such as FAT, SAT, IQ and OQ
  • Operating as an authorised person under PTW / LOTO

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Maintenance
  • BS7671, 18th edition, IET Wiring Regulations
  • Demonstratable industrial fault-finding on site relevant systems (panels, motors / drives, control circuits, etc)
  • Planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Working to recognised engineering codes, electrical standards and site policies
  • Confident working with plant equipment, control systems, and mechanical/electrical assemblies
  • Using LOTOTO and Permit to Work systems for safe isolation
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems, and experience of logging critical maintenance data
  • Managing spares and supporting reliability focused maintenance
  • Conducting root cause analysis and closing out actions, maintenance and safety
  • Maintaining and updating engineering documentation and line drawings
  • Understanding and experience with sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and VF drives

Nice to have:

  • Ability to use, communicate with, navigate and program PLC, HMI and VF drives
  • Experience with PLCs, DCS and automated systems including SCADA systems
  • Experience with inline process control instruments or digital monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with TPM, AM, RM, and 6S
  • QA experience or inspection knowledge

  • Additional electrical qualifications (CPS Part P, ECS or equivalent)
  • IPAF or equivalent MEWP license
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multiskilled Engineering
  • Abrasive wheel certificate
  • Ladder Safety Awareness
  • Recognised First Aid Certificate
