As the Event Planning Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of exceptional events, ensuring every detail reflects our commitment to service excellence and brand standards. In this role, you will manage the full event lifecycle - from understanding each client’s vision to coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless and memorable experiences. Combining strong commercial awareness with a passion for hospitality, you will drive revenue, build lasting client relationships, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Partner with clients to understand their vision and deliver tailored event solutions
Ensure each event reflects Marriott’s high standards of quality, service, and attention to detail
Oversee end-to-end event execution, including setup, service, and post-event follow-up
Work closely with the Culinary team to design customised menus aligned with client needs and brand standards
Ensure all catering offerings meet quality expectations and enhance the guest experience
Manage event budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved while maintaining service excellence
Monitor costs, drive efficiencies, and maximise profitability
Oversee compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and operational standards
Collaborate with Sales teams to secure bookings and identify revenue opportunities
Actively promote catering and events offerings, driving upselling and incremental revenue
Contribute to achieving overall hotel revenue goals
Lead, coach, and inspire the Catering & Events team to deliver exceptional service
Foster a culture aligned with Marriott’s values, focused on excellence and continuous improvement
Provide ongoing training, feedback, and development opportunities
Build strong, lasting relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
Act as a key point of contact, ensuring responsiveness and professionalism at every stage
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Event Planning, ideally within a high-volume hotel environment
A degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related discipline (preferred)
Strong understanding of food & beverage operations and food safety regulations
Proven ability to build relationships and deliver client-focused solutions
Confident in selling, upselling, and promoting event spaces and services
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
A genuine passion for hospitality and events, with a commitment to continuous learning and growth
