Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MSSQL Administrator and Developer to manage and optimize our SQL Server databases and provide expertise in developing database solutions. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of our MSSQL databases. Additionally, you will collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient database structures and queries to support our software applications.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across multiple environments
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring maximum uptime and efficient resource utilization
  • Implement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data
  • Plan and execute database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly
  • Work closely with application developers to design, develop, and implement database structures and schemas
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support application requirements
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency within the databases
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries and ER diagrams
  • Analyze and fine-tune database performance by identifying bottlenecks and optimizing queries and indexes
  • Implement best practices for database design and performance optimization
  • Facilitate data migration and integration processes between various systems and databases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and ensure successful execution
  • Monitor and enforce database security policies and access controls
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards
  • Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades and apply patches to maintain database security and performance
  • Establish and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as an MSSQL Administrator and Developer, with a deep understanding of SQL Server databases
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
  • Strong knowledge of database design principles, indexing, and performance optimization techniques
  • Experience in database administration, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and security
  • Familiarity with data migration and integration processes
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices for securing databases
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server or related areas are a plus
