The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for NAV-related incidents and service requests, while also taking ownership of system configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong NAV technical knowledge, familiarity with its underlying database (SQL Server), and the ability to work closely with both end-users and developers to resolve issues, streamline processes, and contribute to system enhancements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 across all functional areas (Finance, Warehousing, Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory)
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve user issues, including: Posting errors, dimension conflicts, and general ledger reconciliation issues
  • Sales order, purchase order, and warehouse process failures
  • Permission set and role-based access issues
  • Perform basic NAV configuration and setup, such as: Chart of Accounts, posting groups, VAT setup
  • Item categories, inventory costing methods, and warehouse locations
  • User roles, permission sets, and security filters
  • Work directly with the SQL Server back-end to investigate data integrity issues, run queries, and support reporting requirements
  • Maintain and troubleshoot C/AL customisations within NAV 2017 (with a view to exposure to AL in future Business Central upgrades)
  • Collaborate with external partners and 3rd line developers on escalated issues and system enhancements
  • Support data migrations, upgrades, and testing during system projects
  • Produce and maintain documentation, including functional specifications, user guides, and knowledge base articles
  • Provide user training and best practice guidance across business teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ideally NAV 2017, but earlier versions acceptable)
  • Strong knowledge of core NAV modules: Finance, Sales & Marketing, Purchase, Inventory, and Warehouse
  • Proficiency with C/AL development language for NAV 2017 (basic code review, debugging, and modifications)
  • Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server: writing queries, investigating data issues, and supporting SSRS/Jet/Power BI reporting
  • Good understanding of NAV permissions and security model (roles, permission sets, security filters)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot NAV-specific errors (posting issues, table locks, item ledger entries, dimension conflicts, etc.)
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working on a helpdesk

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Jet Reports, SSRS, or Power BI for NAV reporting
  • Familiarity with integration tools/APIs for connecting NAV to third-party systems (EDI, eCommerce platforms, etc.)
  • Exposure to Business Central (AL development) as a future upgrade path
  • ITIL awareness for structured incident and problem management
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV certification (advantageous but not mandatory)
  • SQL Server/Database Administration certification (advantageous)
What we offer:
  • Competitive salary
  • Generous Discount
  • Birthday Day Off
  • Professional growth and training within a supportive, creative team
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of iconic British luxury products
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle from concept to launch
