BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services. We are looking for a MRO Delivery Manager (Wattisham Flying Station) to work within our Maintenance Operations environment, alongside our MOD customer on Vertical Lift platforms. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager (Form 4 Holder), the Delivery Manager provides full accountability and management of the aircraft Maintenance Operations, Maintenance Support or Maintenance Workshop areas by having direct control, oversight and leadership of a multidiscipline team. Travel within the UK is expected and some overseas travel may be required.
Job Responsibility:
Leading and managing a team in delivering aircraft and/or aircraft component maintenance
Implementing and maintaining an MRP 145 Production team and adherence of the plan/Schedule
Regular engagement with BDUK Supply Chain, Production Service Engineers, CAMO, Commercial and Programme
Medium- and Long-term resource planning
Day-to-day monitoring and coordination of all operational teams
Work alongside the customer and other BDUK MRO Managers for the prioritisation of maintenance output
Actively encourage, lead and participate in Continuous Improvement workshops
Respond to quality and safety deficiencies and lead the corrective actions
Management, mentoring and development of the aircraft maintainers and supporting staff
Identify and produce output focused metrics, reporting to Operations leadership and Programme Management
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience of aircraft maintenance operations, in a UK Defence or commercial context
The ability to provide knowledge-based leadership/oversight and apply both technical and human factors (HF) knowledge
A good communicator, technical and non-technical
A working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, BDUK MRP 145 MOE, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes
Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP’s)
Familiarity with supply, quality and safety systems with knowledge of military maintenance practices and procedures desirable
Ability to mentor and coach team members
Current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom
Ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship
