Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented procurement professional looking for a great opportunity in the Brantford area? We are currently seeking a skilled Buyer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a 6-month contract position with the strong potential to become permanent. In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products, processing purchase orders, and ensuring inventory levels align with business needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Purchase goods, materials, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Work cross-functionally to forecast demand and evaluate inventory to ensure stock levels are maintained
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis and identify cost-reduction initiatives
  • Identify and select vendors based on price and quality
  • cultivate new sources for supplies
  • Negotiate contracts and terms of business to improve pricing and drive savings
  • Utilize MRP systems to track purchase orders, maintain detailed records, and resolve order discrepancies or back-orders
  • Act as the interface between suppliers and internal departments regarding purchasing processes and new projects

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience working as a buyer in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills and experience navigating ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Strong mathematical ability and a keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve vendor inquiries and order issues effectively
