Shift: Hours are 7:30a - 4p. No weekends, holidays or call.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners
  • Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols
  • Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses
  • Complies with Joint Commission regulations
  • Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times
  • Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems
  • Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities
  • Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent
  • Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient
  • Maintains patient confidentially
  • Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access
  • Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program)
  • Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire)
  • State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required
  • Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy
  • An Associate’s degree is required
  • candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment
  • Certification in CPR
  • Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients
  • The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement
  • Completion of IV training course
