As a member of the Multidisciplinary Health Care team, co-ordinates, performs and evaluates Diagnostic Services examination within the specific modalities and disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Performs diagnostic MRI scans according to established protocols, adapting for patient condition or clinical judgment to ensure high-quality imaging and diagnostic accuracy.
Works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other technologists to support timely and accurate diagnoses while also supporting patient care.
Demonstrates cultural humility and awareness when engaging with patients from diverse backgrounds, particularly Indigenous and surrounding First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario.
Performs routine quality assurance and equipment safety checks to ensure compliance with equipment standards and regulatory expectations.
Requirements:
Must have a willingness to attend required training to become a licensed Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
Graduate of a recognized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) training program and Certified by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is an asset
Minimum of one year experience in an MRI setting is preferred
Applicants must either possess a current practice license with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Ultrasonography, OR have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a registered health professional program, including six credit hours each in Human Anatomy & Physiology and a health care–related subject (e.g., pathology, ethics, psychology, sociology, medical research, etc.)
Certification in Contrast Injection or willingness to obtain training is preferred
Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) Certification or willingness to obtain training is preferred
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to work within limited direct supervision as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Nice to have:
