Basic Life Support
ARMRIT MRI Technologist
ARRT Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging
ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiography
Graduated from an accredited MRI Program and is ARRT (MR) or ARMIT Certified
Graduated from an approved Radiologic Technology Program and is MR registry eligible
ARRT (MR) or ARMIT must be completed within 12 months of hire/job entry
Less than 1 year

CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with CE credits upon hire required

Job Responsibility

Sets up and utilizes all MRI equipment including imaging coils, patient monitoring systems, and related articles
Evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters
Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts
Reviews MRI registration and screening form thoroughly in order to confirm safe access into magnet room
Assists in training new MRI technologists and students
Performing all filming, archiving and PACS network data management for each patient scanned
Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking
Master new techniques with each subsequent scanner upgrade
Receives training in as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from more senior technologists, including orientation to the Departments infrastructure, policies, protocols, workflows, procedures and routines
Responsible for scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work, and discharging the patient from the MRI department with appropriate post MRI instructions
