Job Responsibility:

Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans of optimal quality
Accountable for obtaining documentation for department records related to patient statistics, supplies, patient billing information and preservation of patient records
Accountable for securing pertinent history from patient, patient's chart or family member to provide the radiologist with adequate information for examination interpretation and to ensure procedural criteria is met

Requirements:
2 year Radiology or MRI program graduate
ARRT or ARMRIT
Completion of formalized MRI course at Junior College level or above or equivalent
Must be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated
Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and knowledge of MRI/MRA clinical protocols
Knows and understands MRI physics
Knows and understands MRI safety
MRI Board eligible
CPR Certification
MRI Board Certification: new hire license required 1 year from hire date
Ability to work overtime when required
Ability to be flexible in starting times to meet demands
Attends additional educational and safety inservices
Ability to respond to work at short notice
Exposed to radiation
Ability to operate portable equipment
Ability to deal with extremely ill patients
Ability to communicate with patients
Ability to adjust to flexible work hours
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and emergency call-back
