Satisfactory completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
4 years of work experience within the field of Imaging Sciences with at least 2 years dedicated to MRI
Maintains current NYS Licensure upon hire
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits as required upon hire

Job Responsibility

Participates in the management of the technical, administrative, quality, and personnel management functions of the imaging section
Provides general supervision and technical support to the Imaging section
Functions at the highest level of a staff technologist as needed
Provides direction to Imaging technical and support staff to ensure smooth and compliant operation of assigned area
Works closely and in concert with IS Nursing, Clerical, IT, Faculty, and staff to achieve maximum productivity with efficient and safe patient throughput while maintaining optimal customer and patient/family satisfaction
Keeps abreast of new developments within MRI as well as imaging sciences in general
Acts as a subject matter expert in downtime procedures and acts as super-user when new equipment or programs are introduced to the department
Oversees daily operations with accountability for the professional conduct and technical performance of personnel
Counsels and directs personnel as needed
Serves as a clinical consultant to MRI staff, providing real-time guidance to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety guidelines are met

Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in health and social care

Job Responsibility

Support patients before, during and after imaging procedures, ensuring comfort, dignity, privacy and reassurance at all times, while helping to reduce anxiety and promote independence
Assist Radiologists, Radiographers, Mammographers and the Imaging team with diagnostic and interventional procedures including biopsies, aspirations, FNAs, ultrasound-guided injections and mammography stereo procedures
Provide hands-on support within MRI and CT lists, helping ensure smooth patient flow and efficient running of imaging sessions
Use Compucare, RIS and PACS systems safely and accurately, maintaining clear, confidential and up-to-date patient records
Champion infection prevention and control, contribute to continuous quality improvement, maintain clean, stocked and safe working environments, and work in line with KIMS policies and procedures
