ONNEC is seeking MAC (Moves, Adds, and Changes) Engineers to join our team on a contract basis, supporting client sites across New Jersey and New York. This is a dynamic, site-based role requiring flexibility, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. Previous experience in telecommunications cabling and hardware operations is desirable but not essential. This is a part-time, on-call/ad hoc position and availability will vary. Most work is out of hours, commonly on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, starting around 4-5pm and finishing approximately 11pm. However, due to the nature of this role, hours can change and vary as required by project works.
Job Responsibility:
Installation, relocation, modification, and decommissioning of hardware (mainly desktop PC’s, screens and associated ancillary IT hardware) in coordination with the clients IT and premises support team
Perform configuration, testing, and operational readiness checks for all installations and modifications
Maintain system documentation and update ITSM system records for all operations
Execute MAC activities including structured cabling installations, patching, and fault/request management
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards
Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams
Requirements:
Telecoms Cabling Infrastructure (BAU/MAC) in office environments - desirable but not essential
Experience carrying out MAC tasks in financial environments - desirable but not essential
Suitable for students looking to gain practical experience in IT infrastructure
Strong communication and time management skills
Detail-oriented and methodical
Able to work well in a team environment
Good customer service / relationship skills
