We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Movement Therapist or Yoga Therapist, with a background in dance or a related movement discipline, to join our vibrant creative therapy team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. This position will complement our dedicated and extensive client engagement department and work closely with our diverse allied health staff. This role includes both group facilitation and one-on-one therapeutic sessions, supporting residents’ physical mobility, emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and social connection.
Job Responsibility:
Establish and coordinate outcome based therapeutic movement programs
Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for resident care needs
Requirements:
Recognised postgraduate qualification in Dance Movement Therapy and eligible for professional membership of the Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia or an accredited Yoga Therapy qualification and eligible for professional membership with Yoga Australia or AUSactive or AAYT
Ability to effectively supervise staff (e.g. volunteers, students etc.)
Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
Operate effectively in a team and autonomously
Excellent organisational skills and time management
Computer skills across a range of programs include Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness to travel to our campuses at Hunters Hill, Randwick and Woollahra
Nice to have:
Experience working in an aged care setting and working with people living with dementia
