Our Housing Management team are looking for a Move-on Officer (Migration) to join us on a full time, 12‑month fixed‑term contract, working 37 hours per week. The Housing Management team is a busy team providing an extensive and responsive property management service to homeless clients placed into temporary accommodation. Sitting within Welfare and Housing Services, the team support each other by working closely together to achieve the right results and to deliver a holistic service to clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This role will also have close working links with the Migration Team and its customers who are accommodated as part of a national resettlement scheme. You will engage in diverse and challenging work every day, making it both rewarding and fulfilling, as we react to the demands of our homeless clients in temporary accommodation. By providing safe accommodation, ensuring they meet all health and safety regulations, we help our clients to feel safe and secure and to get people back on their feet quickly.
Job Responsibility:
Establish the most appropriate and sustainable route to re-housing customers in transitional or temporary accommodation into settled, long term accommodation
Support households to move-on through Find Your Own Scheme, Private Rented Sector Offers (PRSO), support with bidding strategies and qualifying offers, access to supported accommodation where appropriate
Identify suitable private rented accommodation and other housing pathways for clients
Advise and empower households to source accommodation independently
Provide guidance on available assistance
Ensure households understand their housing options
Contribute to sustainable rehousing outcomes
Support the reduction of households in temporary accommodation year on year
Requirements:
Strong customer engagement skills
Ability to clearly explain and discuss available options
Knowledge to conduct comprehensive needs assessments including financial assessments
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines
Adept at managing time and resources efficiently
