Pricing and Underwriting blends data, geospatial information and advanced modelling with talented analysts who strive to deliver fair and competitive prices. Our Motor Pricing team plays a key role in understanding risk, supporting business performance and ensuring our customers get great value. You will join our Motor Pricing team as a Motor Pricing Analyst, contributing to the development of pricing models, insight and recommendations that support decision‑making across our Motor brands, including Direct Line and Churchill. Our hybrid model offers the best of both worlds. Colleagues spend at least 50% of their time in the office, depending on role and team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Building and maintaining pricing models in Python and SQL
  • Analysing performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Supporting the delivery of pricing changes through Radar
  • Ensuring decisions, assumptions and outcomes are clearly documented
  • Partnering with colleagues across Trading, Risk and Underwriting to support pricing strategy
  • Developing efficient code and processes to improve the accuracy, speed and reliability of analysis

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Insurance knowledge and understanding, ideally gained within a data analysis environment
  • Transferable analytical experience from roles such as MI Analyst, Insight Analyst, Data Analyst, Claims Analyst, Risk Analyst, Fraud Analytics Analyst, Underwriting Analyst or Portfolio Analyst
  • A numerate degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computing, or a related subject
