Haus is seeking an experienced Motion Design Director to join our Los Angeles team. In this role, you will lead the motion design practice across a major account — setting the creative and technical standard for how our work moves, behaves, and feels across multiple workstreams. You will oversee and mentor a team of Motion Designers while reporting to the Creative Director, serving as the connective tissue between creative vision and motion execution at the highest level.
Job Responsibility:
Define and elevate the motion design language across workstreams — from early concept and style frames through final delivery
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Motion Designers, providing creative direction, feedback, and professional development
Partner closely with the Creative Director and Art Directors to shape how motion informs and enhances the overall creative vision
Ensure consistency and quality across simultaneous workstreams, balancing big-picture direction with hands-on involvement when needed
Establish motion best practices, workflows, and quality standards across the team
Stay ahead of emerging tools, techniques, and trends — bringing new capabilities and creative possibilities to the work
Requirements:
8+ years of motion design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or directorial capacity
An exceptional portfolio demonstrating sophisticated motion craft across brand, campaign, and digital formats
Expert-level After Effects
Cinema 4D or other 3D experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with procedural animation, expressions, and scripting-based workflows
Awareness of real-time, AI-assisted, and code-based motion tools (Rive, Lottie, Cavalry, or similar)
Strong design fundamentals — you can shape a creative concept, not just execute one
Proven ability to lead and develop creative talent in a collaborative agency environment
Clear, confident communicator who can articulate motion decisions to CDs, ADs, and cross-functional partners
Nice to have:
Cinema 4D or other 3D experience
Familiarity with procedural animation, expressions, and scripting-based workflows
Awareness of real-time, AI-assisted, and code-based motion tools (Rive, Lottie, Cavalry, or similar)
