Job Responsibility
Delivering compassionate, high-quality care
Leveraging your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans
Collaborating seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team
Adhering to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards
Administering, overseeing and documenting the administration of medications as ordered by the healthcare practitioner
Assessing patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs
Gathering data relevant for patient care
Implementing appropriate patient interventions and evaluating outcomes
Planning care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments
Providing holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice
Preparing patient for discharge and assisting with coordinating post discharge needs
Demonstrating proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication
Demonstrating competent professional practice and engaging in opportunities for professional growth
Documenting care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process
Receiving and assuring appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
One to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in L&D, Mother/Baby unit or nursery
