Job Description:

Standard Mortgage Corporation (SMC) is a strong national mortgage servicer with over 100 years in the mortgage industry, servicing loans in 18 states. SMC enjoys relationships with all Federal Mortgage Agencies including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA Rural Development, as well as other private investors. SMC originates and services mortgages secured by single-family residences. We offer a friendly, collaborative working environment with opportunity for professional growth.

Job Responsibility:

Establish direct communication with borrowers to resolve delinquent first mortgage loans within agency guidelines
Offer payment options and Home Retention Programs for eligible borrowers
Process payments on delinquent accounts
Monitor payment plans and arrangements through consistent follow up communications
Document actions and communications in servicing system
Review and refer seriously defaulted loans for legal action within agency guidelines
Train, learn, and comprehend related areas of default mortgage servicing

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years Collections experience
Computer literate
Familiar with Microsoft Office (WORD / Excel) and office phone systems
Collections Counseling requires candidate to have good to excellent credit

Nice to have:

Prior mortgage related experience
Experience with FHA, VA, Rural Housing, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines
Organized and able to Multi-task
Available to work evenings and Saturdays when needed
Self-motivated and able to work and be productive in a time-sensitive environment
