Job Description:

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently running production on multiple plastic injection molding machines to create products that meet customer specifications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely and efficiently set, operate, and monitor injection molding machines to produce plastic and die-cast products that meet customer specifications
  • Perform all required functions in the Mii system, including job tracking and documentation
  • Conduct mold setup, startups, color changes, and shutdowns, following all established procedures
  • Perform quality checks on products using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet criteria
  • Identify and report any defective parts or machine malfunctions to the supervisor or plant lead
  • Assemble plastic and die-cast components and conduct functional product testing
  • Load dryers, hoppers, and color feeders
  • label and move finished products to designated areas
  • Assist with minor mold change functions and perform preventive maintenance on molds
  • Troubleshoot and document issues with the molding process and mold setup
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S standards
  • Work safely in a high-paced environment with changing priorities and participate actively in plant-wide safety initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required, with a solid and stable job history
  • Mechanical and/or technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn molding processes and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work any shift, including overtime and weekends, as required
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, bending, pushing/pulling heavy equipment, and tolerating high heat and humidity
  • Comfortable using hand tools and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Willing and able to actively participate in plant-wide safety initiatives

General knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, components, and plastic materials/resins is a plus
