Requirements

Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience in injection mold making, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Proven experience working with both steel and aluminum molds, including fitting, assembly, and fine machining
Strong bench skills: milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, fitting, polishing, and precision measurement
Proficient in CNC machining and EDM operations (programming and operation)
Familiarity with mold components such as hot runners, cold runners, lifters, ejector systems, and cooling circuits
Solid understanding of injection-molding processes, press setup, and part troubleshooting
Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and machining blueprints
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on mentorship and teamwork
Legally permitted to work Fulltime in British Columbia

Job Responsibility

Build, assemble, and commission new injection molds to design specifications
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and in-service repairs on molds and associated tooling
Diagnose and correct molding-related part defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, or burn lines
Rework and modify molds (EDM, CNC operations, bench work, fitting, polishing) to improve part quality and cycle time
Set up and validate mold trials on presses
collaborate with machine operators to optimize process parameters
Maintain accurate tooling documentation, including mold history, maintenance logs, repair records, and spare-parts lists
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce changeover time, minimize scrap, and enhance tooling reliability
Mentor and train junior mold makers and apprentices while promoting a strong culture of safety
Manage tooling and spare-parts inventory
