We are seeking a dedicated Qualified MFL Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term placement within our partner secondary schools. We are looking for an educator who can confidently deliver Spanish, French, or German (or a combination of languages) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Job Responsibility
Linguistic Mastery: Plan and deliver immersive, high-quality MFL lessons that comprehensively cover the four core skill areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing
Cultural Advocacy: Bring languages to life by integrating the rich traditions, history, music, and contemporary culture of the target language countries into your curriculum
Exam Excellence: Guide GCSE cohorts through their specifications, using targeted speech practice, listening exercises, and exam-strategy sessions to maximise student outcomes
Interactive Pedagogy: Utilise digital learning tools, role-play, and authentic foreign-language media to create a dynamic, communicative classroom where students feel safe to practice and make mistakes
Inclusive Scaffolding: Differentiate language learning tasks effectively, ensuring that high-attaining pupils are stretched with advanced syntax while providing clear, accessible scaffolding for students with SEN or lower literacy levels
Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the MFL faculty to develop creative resources, participate in collaborative marking/moderation, and support extracurricular language clubs or international trips
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in a relevant Modern Foreign Language (Spanish, French, German, etc.) or equivalent native-speaker qualification
Subject Versatility: The ability to teach a main language to GCSE level is essential
the ability to offer a second language at Key Stage 3 is highly desirable
Communication Flair: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex grammatical structures simply and with enthusiasm
Classroom Command: Strong behaviour management strategies that cultivate a mutual culture of respect, participation, and focus
Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
