Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Model Shop Lead Hand to join our team in Chilca, Lima. You will be part of our Global Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing, maintenance and inspection of foundry models in accordance with standards, procedures and work instructions. You will prepare model drawings and 3D models based on foundry design requirements, prepare gauge drawings and maintain accurate model and inspection records. You will also assist other workers with production activities, support internal and outsourced model shop work and actively promote a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility

  • Manufacturing, maintenance and inspection of foundry models in accordance with standards, procedures and work instructions
  • Prepare model drawings and 3D models based on foundry design requirements
  • Prepare gauge drawings and maintain accurate model and inspection records
  • Assist other workers with production activities
  • Support internal and outsourced model shop work
  • Actively promote a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Perform model manufacturing and maintenance activities in the model shop (internal and external) according to standards, procedures, work instructions and methods
  • Perform inspections of models both within Bradken and at outsourced facilities using 3D scanners and traditional inspection tools, preparing and maintaining the corresponding records
  • Keep the work area, tools and equipment safe, clean and in good order
  • Comply with all safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards
  • Participate in training, safety interactions and task observations
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement and waste reduction opportunities

Requirements

  • Technical degree, preferably related to mechanical, industrial or manufacturing fields
  • At least three years of relevant experience working with foundry models and model shops in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Training or certifications in mechanical design software and 3D modelling
  • Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Experience in foundry, heavy manufacturing, fabrication or mining wear products is highly valued
  • Intermediate or conversational level in English is valued but not mandatory
