Job Description

To plan, organize, and implement world-class educational programs in a P-12 laboratory school environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, and helps the school and University meet established goals. To ensure that each student will grow to his/her greatest intellectual ability, emotional development and psychological well-being. Additionally, the teacher will mentor and instruct university students working and observing at Model for experiential learning assignments.

Job Responsibility

  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Prepares for classes assigned
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
  • Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis
  • Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Maintains accurate records
  • Assists in implementing policies and rules
  • Plans and supervises assignments for volunteers and substitute teachers

  • Follows all University and Model Lab policies
