Model coaching positions are seasonal appointments. The middle school boys' soccer season is generally from July - October. Positions will ensure that KHSAA and EKU regulations and policies are observed during practices and events, provide coaching, role modeling and oversight of activities, and supervise students.
Job Responsibility:
Work with Athletic Director to schedule practices and games
Ensure presence at all scheduled basketball events
Train and practice with student athletes using best practices for soccer players and in accordance with all KHSAA and other national and state laws and guidelines
Serve as a Model representative and liaison when interacting with Model parents and with employees, students, parents and community members of others schools
Complete all required training for coaches, including Model orientation and review of the coaches handbook
Serve as a role model, using appropriate behaviors and coaching techniques for student athletes
Assist in selection and oversight of assistant coach and ensure proper behaviors are maintained
Ensure proper maintenance and care of all athletic equipment
Adhere to student confidentiality policies and procedures
Follow proper protocol for student travel to competitions
Learn and communicate with students and parents through the school-approved ROOMS communication system
Complete other duties as assigned/requested by the Superintendent or Director of Athletics
Requirements:
High school diploma and completion of KHSAA training or minimum of 64 college credit hours is required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must complete KHSAA and Model Lab School training requirements
Nice to have:
Successful experience as a soccer player and/or coach
Highly knowledgeable about the rules of the game and experience in working with student athletes
