Join a diverse and collaborative team of over 300 modelers and technologists in Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) within BlackRock Solutions, the business responsible for the research and development of Aladdin’s financial models. This group is also accountable for analytics production, enhancing the infrastructure platform and delivering analytics content to portfolio and risk management professionals (both within BlackRock and across the Aladdin client community). The models developed and supported by AFE span a wide array of financial products covering equities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives, and private markets. AFE provides investment insights that range from an analysis of cash flows on a single bond, to the overall financial risk associated with an entire portfolio, balance sheet, or enterprise.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to design, enhancement and implementation of securitized products models
Assist in model validation, implementation testing, and integration into production environments
Design and implement methodologies to monitor model performance, including defining test metrics and defining performance thresholds
Respond to risk reviews and address findings with clear, quantitatively driven solutions
Perform rigorous checks on model inputs & outputs to ensure consistency across model development & implementation layers
Develop and maintain scripts in Python, R, C++, or similar languages to support automated monitoring and reporting workflows
Clearly present model and monitoring results and methodologies to model reviewers, risk teams, and other stakeholders in both written reports and meetings
Requirements:
3-4 years of hands-on experience in model development, implementation, or validation
Degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics
Strong programming proficiency in Python, R, or equivalent
experience with C++ is a plus
Familiarity with RMBS, CMBS, ABS, or CLOs is a plus, though not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex modeling concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
