Job Description:

QTEC Aerospace is seeking MODEL BASED SYSTEMS ENGINEERS to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic. QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Defense programs. This role is for a Systems Engineer to support the Army program offices that protect and defend the United States of America and her allies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition and interface definition
  • Complete use case development and preparing systems engineering artifacts as a part of program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities
  • Follow an Agile framework to manage the backlog and document progress
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Work with teams crossing multiple functions in order to drive data connectivity from architecture to requirements to test

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field with at least 2 years' related experience
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and related tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw)
  • Ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines
  • Skills in generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented
  • Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering 'V' and be capable of performing engineering analysis, requirements allocation, requirements decomposition
  • Experience in mission analysis with skill in the development of use cases, sequence diagrams, and creation of Interface Documents
  • Experience with requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
  • Experience using Atlassian Tools such as JIRA
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
  • Expert in all MS Office applications and familiarity with DOORS
  • Familiar with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
