Job Description:

We are looking for interns for Summer 2026. Truly autonomous drones are a new product category that demands a new kind of mobile experience. Forget complex joysticks and awkward tilt-controls: we are crafting completely novel interactions that leverage Skydio’s onboard intelligence to empower a much broader, more diverse audience of drone users.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, prototype, and refine advanced drone interfaces
  • Contribute to development of user interfaces for autonomous flying camera
  • Combine knowledge of Android ecosystems with Drone Intelligence API
  • Improve user experiences by incorporating augmented reality, in-app content creation, and sharing capabilities
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, internal testing, and piloting experiences

Requirements:

  • Senior or MS-level college student
  • Practical project and/or industry experience developing mobile applications on Android
  • Passion for meticulously crafted interfaces
  • Experience with: Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, adb, Linux, Android Architecture Components, Jetpack Compose
  • Ability to create tools and automate workflows using Python scripts
  • Appreciation for code-review and collaborative development practices

Nice to have:

  • Experience in C++ and OpenGL
  • Shipped code to the App Store or Google Play store
  • Experience with IoT or embedded devices using Android NDK
