Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile Plant Technician to join a well-established industrial operation in Bristol. This is a site-based role offering long-term stability, excellent earning potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Responsibility

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant equipment
  • Fault diagnosis and repair on: Forklift trucks, Loading shovels, Commercial vehicles, Other mobile machinery

Requirements

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant equipment
  • Fault diagnosis and repair on: Forklift trucks, Loading shovels, Commercial vehicles, Other mobile machinery
  • Strong experience with: Hydraulic systems (particularly fault-finding), Diesel engines, Electrical systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repair experience
  • Level 3 qualification in: Vehicle Maintenance, Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Or a related discipline
  • A completed apprenticeship is preferred but not always essential if experience is strong

  • Generating sales on service calls by upselling additional servicing, products, or revenue streams to customers
  • Maintaining and operating the Mobile Service Unit (MSU) to the highest standards, ensuring all equipment is serviced, calibrated, and in good working order, especially during fieldwork

  • To manage the timely completion of work orders for planned and reactive maintenance, oversee specialist sub-contract work and remedial work
  • Undertake mechanical and electrical building maintenance to include but not exhaustively working on air handling Units (AHUs), emergency/power generators, emergency lighting checks, lighting and security systems, HVAC, pumps, legionella temperature check, tanks flushes, plumbing remedial works
  • Host specialist engineers/manufacturers engineers/contractors on site to undertake specialist remedial/warranty works as required
  • Plant room walk rounds – undertake any snagging and general maintenance/remedial works on each site as required
