As a Mobile Pet Groomer with Bark & Mane, you'll provide premium one-on-one grooming inside a fully equipped, climate-controlled grooming van delivered to the client's driveway. You set up at the curb, the dog steps into your van, you do what you love — bath, blow-out, haircut, finishing — and you move to the next house. No retail counter. No drop-off pets stacked in cages. No managing the front desk between dogs. Just you, the pet, and the work. You'll service 5 to 6 grooms per day on routes that we pre-book, dispatch, and route-optimize. We provide the van, the gear, the customers, the marketing, the call center, the back-office, the gas, the insurance, and the W-2 paycheck. You bring the craft, the eye, and the rapport with the pet parents.
Job Responsibility:
Perform full-service grooms (bath, brush-out, hand-scissor and clipper work, nail trim, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, breed-standard cuts) on dogs of all sizes, coat types, and temperaments
Service 5–6 dogs per day across a dispatched route in Hollywood, West Hollywood, Studio City, and adjacent neighborhoods
Operate the Bark & Mane grooming van independently: setup, generator/water systems, on-board tub, dryer station, and on-board climate
Conduct pre-groom intake with the pet parent: confirm the cut, flag any health/skin concerns, and capture before-and-after photos through our HouseAccount app
Maintain Bark & Mane brand standards: uniform on, van clean, sanitized between every dog, and a 4.6+ customer rating average across reviews and post-groom feedback
Submit a full digital route log, incident reports (if any), and rebooking notes through our HouseAccount system at the end of every shift
Sanitize and secure the van at the end of each day
deliver it to the overnight location in operations-ready condition for the morning route
Communicate proactively with dispatch about no-shows, schedule slippage, or any animal-handling or vehicle issue
Stay current on grooming techniques, breed standards, and pet safety — including maintaining your pet first-aid certification (we reimburse)
Requirements:
2+ years professional grooming experience (salon, mobile, or veterinary clinic)
Mobile experience strongly preferred but not required
Current pet first-aid certification (PetSaver, PetTech, or equivalent) — or willingness to obtain within 30 days of start
we reimburse 100%
Valid California driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record acceptable to our commercial auto insurer (no DUIs, no more than 1 moving violation in the past 3 years)
Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs (large breeds onto the grooming table), stand for 6–8 hours/day, and work in a mobile/non-stationary environment
Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments calmly and professionally, including dogs with anxiety or matting requiring patience
Right to work in the United States (I-9 documentation required on day one)
Reliable transportation to the Hollywood dispatch hub for shift start (we provide the grooming van for the route itself)
Nice to have:
NDGAA, IPG, or IJA certification (National Dog Groomers Association, International Professional Groomers, or International Judges Association)
Experience grooming on a mobile unit (self-contained van with generator, water system, on-board tub)
