Job Description:

We are seeking a practical, reliable, and friendly Mobile Maintenance & Collection Operative to support our ReUse retail outlets across North and East London. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, collecting unwanted items, and bringing them back to life. You’ll play a key part in collecting donated goods, transporting stock safely between sites, and carrying out basic repairs and refurbishment to prepare items for resale. You’ll also work closely with Site Supervisors and shop teams across different locations, building positive working relationships and ensuring smooth communication and coordination between sites.

Job Responsibility:

  • Driving a company van to collect and deliver donated goods across multiple sites
  • Safely loading, unloading, and transporting furniture and other items
  • Carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment of stock
  • Preparing items for display and sale, ensuring quality and safety standards
  • Supporting safe working practices and Health & Safety compliance
  • Working collaboratively with Site Supervisors to coordinate collections, deliveries, and stock movement
  • Providing friendly, professional support to colleagues across all locations

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Confident van driver with experience in collections or deliveries
  • Practical skills in basic repairs (furniture, household items, etc.)
  • Good understanding of safe manual handling and Health & Safety
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive working relationships
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
  • Interest in sustainability, recycling, and re-use
