Job Description:

PD Ports is a leading UK port business offering end-to-end supply chain solutions, employing over 1,400 people in the UK. A vacancy has arisen for a full time Mobile Lifting & Plant Advanced Tradesperson at PD Ports within the Engineering department. Location: Tees Dock, Middlesbrough, TS6 6UD. Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week, rota based.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on plant, machinery and services to a high standard
  • diagnosing faults and resolving issues before escalation with rapid fault identification and resolution, minimizing downtime and operational disruption
  • identifying recurring faults and addressing root causes, driving improvements in reactive and planned maintenance
  • completion of PMs to plan and closing out actions on time
  • identifying and recording work, defects and service sheets within required timescales alongside use of the company’s Asset Management system for work orders, asset updates, and inventory where required
  • supporting maintenance planning and prioritisation with Engineering and Operations departments and coordinating reactive maintenance efforts across teams or rotations

Requirements:

  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • strong working knowledge of plant, machinery and services with good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • competent with Microsoft Office systems and exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • supervisory or acting-up experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely certificate and leadership/management training
  • ability to demonstrate analytical skills to interrogate, analyse and evaluate previous/current repair information
