Randstad is currently partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS) in an exciting new role within the systems engineering space. As part of broad, on-going growth within the space team, the business has a need for an experienced Mission Systems Engineering Lead with knowledge or experience around advanced space capabilities or interested in future space projects. The candidate must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance. As a Mission Systems Engineering Lead, you will be leading systems engineering activities across the full life-cycle of next generation advanced space capability for the warfighter. As a Systems Thinker, you will be comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements, and act as a trusted technical authority to guide the systems engineering team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain system architectures, requirements, and CONOPS aligned to military mission needs
  • Act as the technical authority interfacing with customer leads and internal engineering teams
  • Guide system integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Support capability development, bids, and customer engagements by articulating complex system concepts clearly
  • Ensure system designs are robust, deployable, and operable in real‑world environments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or qualifications in engineering discipline
  • 10 plus years experience in systems engineering of complex, multidisciplinary systems
  • Proven experience with electronic warfare, optical, sensor, or space related systems
  • Strong background in requirements management and system architecture
  • Experience working with defence customers
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
  • Ability to remain calm and lead the team under operational pressure
  • Australian Defence security clearance - NV2 or TSPV (desirable)
