Job Description

MinRes is looking for an experienced Mining Geologist to join our high-performing team at our Wodgina operation on an 8D6X FIFO roster from Perth. In this role, you'll provide essential geological support to our mining operations—ensuring precise ore control, accurate data collection, and insightful interpretation to maximise recovery and minimise dilution. You'll work as part of the Mine Technical Services team, closely collaborating with mining engineers and surveyors to ensure geological models are seamlessly integrated into daily mine plans, driving efficient and effective production outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform daily ore control and grade monitoring activities
  • Conduct geological mapping and logging
  • Develop blast hole sampling plans to inform the grade control model
  • Interpret geological data and update 3D models in line with operational requirements
  • Create dig blocks to support mining in a timely manner
  • Liaise with mine planning, laboratory, and production teams to ensure continuous geological support for ore extraction
  • Maintain geological databases, including QA/QC checks and analysis
  • Conduct geological model reconciliation and end-of-month processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology) or equivalent is mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience working within an open pit production environment
  • Proficiency in geological modelling software and database management systems
  • Strong understanding of grade control processes, geological mapping, open pit mining methodology and processes
  • High level of communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
