We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mining Engineer to join our dynamic underground mining operations in Suriname & Guyana. This is a key technical role where you will be instrumental in driving safe, efficient, and profitable mining activities. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem-solver with a strong background in underground mine design and production planning, ready to contribute to our team's success in a challenging and rewarding international environment.
Job Responsibility:
Mine Design & Planning: Develop, update, and manage detailed underground mine designs, including development headings, production drilling layouts (encompassing medium and large-diameter holes), and stope geometry
Production Scheduling: Create, implement, and monitor monthly and annual mine production plans, ensuring alignment with the selected mining method and operational capacity targets
Technical Oversight: Conduct quality control inspections and provide technical acceptance for key activities, including development, drilling, and blasting operations
Operational Support & Optimization: Provide on-the-ground technical support to the operations team and actively participate in initiatives to optimize mining methods, processes, and costs
Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with the Geology, Survey, and Production departments to ensure the accurate and efficient implementation of the mine plan and resolve any technical challenges
Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and distribute accurate technical reports, drawings, and documentation in compliance with company standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 3 years of practical underground mining experience
Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard mining software such as Surpac or Deswik
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be physically fit and able to work effectively in an underground mine setting
Must be willing to adapt to the specific conditions of a remote mining site
