Bring stories & ideas to life by creating innovated technicalities to Minecraft sets. Put smiles on millions of viewers! Our team is seeking an experienced and efficient Minecraft Datapack and Command Block expert who can work with our incredible team of Minecraft Set Designers to bring YouTube scripts and storyboards to life in an interactive and exciting way; whilst making the Sets (Minecraft Builds) practical for filming environments and children audiences.

Job Responsibility:

  • Interpreting Storyboards and Scripts: Translate storyboard and script concepts into physical Minecraft builds and sets that accurately represent the intended events, including dialogue, pranks, timing, and other narrative elements
  • Realistic and Functional Event Creation: Design and construct realistic events within Minecraft builds that are visually appealing, functional, and believable to the audience, ensuring that they do not appear "fake" or contrived
  • Versatile Building Styles: Adapt to various building styles, ranging from "noob" to "pro," "professional," "hacker," and more, depending on the storyline and context, to create immersive environments that resonate with the audience
  • Efficient Building Techniques: Utilize common building techniques and tools such as WorldEdit to build efficiently and effectively, optimizing the construction process while maintaining quality and detail
  • Gameplay Design Integration: Integrate interesting and unique gameplay moments and level design elements within the builds to engage and captivate the audience, enhancing the overall storytelling experience
  • Interactive Functionality Implementation: Utilize command blocks, redstone, datapacks, and mods to add interactive, practical, and functional elements to the builds, allowing the events of the script to unfold dynamically within the Minecraft world

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of Game Level Design/Minecraft Building/Set Design/Java Development/Coding
  • A full understanding of Minecraft and all game mechanics
  • A moderate understanding of WorldEdit
  • A full understanding of Minecraft Mods, Addons, Datapacks, Resource Packs
  • A full understanding of Minecraft commands, command blocks and redstone circuitry
  • Ability to meet and understand deadlines
  • Ability to understand feedback and act on it

Nice to have:

  • Worked with major competitors in this age demographic previously (Prestonplayz, Craftee/LogDotZip, Bionic, xNestorio, Quiff, Donibobes, etc)
  • Worked with a Minecraft Marketplace team
  • Experience in other Minecraft/YouTube industry-specific roles (Builder, Editor, Animator, Actor, etc)
  • Also meets the requirements of our Minecraft Builder/Set Design role
