Job Description:

Work with an established, stable and creative team across multiple Minecraft themed YouTube channels. Lead a diverse team that will bring your animation concepts to life!

Job Responsibility:

  • Write animation instructions for all Spawnpoint Media Minecraft channels
  • Work closely with Operations and Production Management to schedule and allocate work to team members ensuring efficiency, feasibility and deadline success
  • Review all team members work, cross-referencing against animation instructions
  • Review animation quality to ensure output matches expected standards
  • Assist Storyboard/Creative channel leads with video introduction writing and voiceover scripting ensuring that wording is easily animatable and matches thumbnail design/title to improve viewer retention
  • Review final edits of each video, checking that animations have been used correctly, including suggesting changes, additions of sound or video effects
  • Lead the animation team and provide regular training and host monthly meetings for animators
  • Show strong, effective & inspiring leadership and mentoring to team members

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage your own time for project/media deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Minecraft game mechanics
  • Experience with animating (formal qualifications preferred)
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills (such as using Minecraft mods Blockbuster and Replay if not already known)
  • Strong understanding of YouTube analytics such as retention rates and CTR, both for long form and shorts
  • Experience with cinematography and composition
  • Attend important weekly meetings (occur within Australian business hours)
