Job Responsibility:
Performs maintenance inspections, repairs and rebuilds on all plant mechanical equipment
This role is critical to achieving Safe Equipment Availability and Reliability goals by elimination of unplanned emergency work and extended downtimes
Required to participate in various safety and technical training programs to ensure that their job knowledge and skills meet evolving company standards
Work with safety at the top priority and be available for off hours support as needed
Requirements:
Comply with all safety regulations at all times
Perform Workplace Inspections and Preventive Maintenance inspections and report findings
Ensures maintenance tools are kept in good condition
Must have experience and expertise in the installation of material, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Be proficient in all welding positions
Be able to repair and replace damaged or worn parts
Be able to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists, chain falls, come alongs, slinges, and hand tools
Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears
Fit bearings to adjust, repair or overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
Fabricate needed parts or items as required
Performing preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting and repair all equipment and documenting results
Be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
Able to troubleshoot and perform repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics systems
Willing to upgrade skills by participating in vendor training
Be proficient in diagnosing faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices
Possess and maintain a complete set of personal hand tools
Be able to operate mobile equipment (ie: Forklift, Skid Steer, Aerial Work Platform, Work Truck)
Read and understand operating manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
Perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Must be able to work any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes
Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages
Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills
Must be able perform basic mathematical computations
Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field
Proven self-direction and leadership abilities
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines
Must be a team player who works well with others
Must be open minded, willing to learn, and receptive to change
Strong record of attendance reliability
Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
Must possess basic computer skills and SAP
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, schematics, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry
Must be physically able to perform work assigned
Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, at heights climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
Work in the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles
Required Experience: 1 - 5 years
Required Education: ITA Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certification
Nice to have:
Preferred Experience: 6 -10 years
Preferred Education: Grade 12 Certificate or Grade 12 GED Certificate
