Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Millwright to join our team at the Port Hardy Processing Plant. This is a full‑time, year‑round position, primarily scheduled on day shift; however, other shifts may be required to meet operational requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Repair, troubleshoot, and install machinery, including salmon processing, ice-making, ice delivery, and packaging equipment
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, and schematics to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment
  • Optimize equipment performance safely, efficiently, and reliably by participating in continuous improvement initiatives and completing work orders according to preventative maintenance (PM) schedules
  • Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of high-speed packaging and processing equipment
  • Support and maintain wastewater systems
  • Work on other maintenance or improvement projects as required
  • Collaborate with other trades and, at times, contractors in a flexible, team-based environment to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Assist operations in the safe and efficient operation of processing equipment

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is required (4th-year apprentices may be considered)
  • Working knowledge of WorkSafe BC and Technical Safety BC regulations, codes, and standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, install, commission, and maintain new equipment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, manuals, and mechanical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
  • Experience with PLCs, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Ability to read mechanical and piping schematics
  • Experience with networking and strong computer skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, preferably within the food industry, is considered an asset
