Job Description

We are currently looking to add a Millwright for a food company located in Mitchell, Ontario. Location: Mitchell, ON Shift: Days, Afternoons, Nights - 2 week rotation Overtime is paid past 40 hours Saturdays - 1.5x pay Sundays- 2xpay Benefits- offered after 3 months PENSION PLAN- 7% MATCH!!! Pay rate: $43.19 to $49.34 Tickets: 433a If you come from a food or beverage background, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibility

  • Experience with plant utilities including HVAC, boiler, chiller and ammonia compressors would be considered an asset, Refrigeration B certificate is a definite asset, at least must be able to become certified within a year
  • Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
  • Good communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Computer competence to work with a CMMS
  • Hands on experience on highly automated packaging equipment would be considered an asset
  • Experience with welding and pipe fitting would be considered an asset
  • Ability to obtain their Lift Truck license

Requirements

  • 433a with industrial experience
  • Prior experience working within a food environment would be an asset
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Lots of OT available
  • Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability

  • System Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed industrial manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and critical plant utilities (compressors, fluid systems)
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with a robust, collaborative maintenance department (including dedicated Electrical and Mechanical supervisors, Millwrights, and fellow Electricians) to minimize production downtime
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to operational needs and participate in an easy-to-manage, rotational on-call schedule (approximately once every 10 weeks)
  • Safety First: Adhere strictly to all plant safety protocols and PPE requirements in a fast-paced, heavy industrial manufacturing environment
