Job Description:

Chetwynd Forest Industries is recruiting for a Millwright. West Fraser offers exciting career paths in trades, operations, professional services, engineering and forestry across more than 50 locations in Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Europe.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work in a safe manner using established SOPs, following all lockouts and protocols, and completing PTHAs
  • Preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, various belt and chain transfer and drive systems, sawing, debarking, sorting, stacking, and compressors
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery
  • Work in man-lifts with the use of fall protection equipment
  • Repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves and cylinders
  • Work positively in a team environment

Requirements:

  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
  • Sawmill experience is an asset
  • A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification or a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4th
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with other trades and employees
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule for workdays, nights, and weekend shifts

Sawmill experience is an asset
