Job Description:

Domtar is currently seeking Mill Technician candidates with Operational, Maintenance, and Electronic/Instrumentation (E&I) skills to join the Marlboro Paper Mill in Bennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper products are produced daily.

Job Responsibility:

  • Evaluates and corrects problems by monitoring processes and equipment and informing other technicians of issues as needed
  • Troubleshoots equipment by noticing/investigating problems, performing repairs or submitting work notifications for repairs
  • Maintains proper documentation for processes and equipment
  • Performs housekeeping duties
  • Performs work responsibilities in a safe manner by adhering to safety procedures. Review and/or recommends updates to safety procedures
  • Assists with writing of SOPs, training, and/or safety procedures by reviewing and updating
  • Performs specific functions as defined in certified skills

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of continuous employment preferred, and preferably in a manufacturing facility
  • OR have an Associate degree in engineering, electronics or science
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, work at heights, in confined spaces, around noise, and in inclement weather
  • Ability to train in and comprehend complex process systems
  • Excellent prior work history and safety record
  • Experienced skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • High math ability with a minimum score of 6 on WorkKeys Math Test
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • History of demonstrated helpfulness and “can do” attitude
