The Military to Civilian Business Liaison serves as the primary employer-facing representative for the Military to Civilian Employment Grant. This role is responsible for business engagement, job development, and outreach efforts that promote the hiring of transitioning service members, recently separated veterans, and military spouses. Working closely with Career Advisors and workforce partners, the Liaison connects employers with qualified military-connected talent while educating businesses on the value and benefits of veteran and spouse hiring. The role also supports grant performance outcomes through employer follow-up, hiring event coordination, and accurate documentation of placements and outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employers participating in the Military to Civilian Employment Grant
Conduct outreach and presentations to local employers, chambers of commerce, and economic development partners to advocate for veteran and military spouse hiring
Identify and develop job opportunities aligned with military skillsets and local workforce needs
Market workforce services, including recruitment assistance, Rapid Response, job fairs, and Skills Development Fund initiatives
Solicit, post, and manage job openings in WorkInTexas.com
Follow up with employers to document hires and ensure accurate capture of veteran and spouse placement outcomes
Collaborate with the Business Solutions Unit to align employer needs with candidates, training options, and workforce services
Identify opportunities for On-the-Job Training, work-based learning, customized training, or subsidized employment
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate veteran- and spouse-focused job fairs, hiring events, and networking opportunities
Represent the Workforce Center and Military to Civilian Grant at Dyess Air Force Base, National Guard, and Reserve unit events
Maintain active relationships with Department of Defense Transition Assistance Programs, Family Support Centers, and local chambers of commerce
Track employer outreach, participation, and hiring activity to ensure compliance with grant objectives and performance deliverables
Ensure accurate entry of employer contacts, job postings, and placement outcomes in WorkInTexas.com
Maintain compliant service notes and documentation for participants and employers
Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local workforce regulations, including TTA and STTAR reporting requirements
Prepare correspondence, reports, and performance documentation as required by management or funding entities
Work closely with Career Advisors to match qualified candidates to employer openings
Provide direct assistance to participants when needed, including job referrals, resume review, interview preparation, and post-placement follow-up
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in workforce development, counseling, social work, human resources, or a related field strongly preferred, or equivalent workforce experience
Veteran, transitioning service member, or current military spouse strongly preferred
Must possess and maintain access credentials for Dyess AFB, including CAC or other approved military ID
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance with a good driving record
Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
