Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Business Development (BD) professional to accelerate Amentum's growth within the National Defense and Intelligence Communities; specifically, military intelligence customers. The successful candidate must have proven experience in customer engagement, the development of a growth pipeline, and ability to qualify key strategies opportunities between $50M and greater than $1B in size. As required, the individual must have experience supporting several mission areas within the military intelligence customers. Candidates must have strong and current customer knowledge and networking relationships to identify opportunities the relevant customer base that will position Amentum as a leading provider in those areas. The military intelligence BD professional must have a deep and broad understanding of the customer's short and long-term objectives, as well as their in-house capabilities, and areas where Amentum's support will enhance their chances for mission success.

Job Responsibility

  • Supports development of customer account strategies, responses to RFI, Market Surveys, and Expressions of Interest
  • Identifies, develops, and qualifies pipeline of opportunities across military intelligence customer set
  • Prepares and presents capability statements and new business information presentations
  • Develops customer engagement strategies while maintaining close relationships with key customers
  • Responsible for shaping the RFP, determining customer intimacy, identifying strengths/weaknesses
  • Works with Capture Manager and pursuit leaders to inform decisions through contract award
  • Responsible for building foundational approach to meet requirements to win an opportunity
  • Identifies initial need or benefits of teaming partners and oversight of agreements
  • Develops and matures strategies for future market changes
  • Consults with customers on upcoming requirements to help shape RFPs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or subject matter relevant to customer's mission
  • TS/SCI clearance, preferably with polygraph
  • Minimum five years' Business Development experience with proven capability to execute a growth strategy and win pursuits
  • Credibility with external constituents, specifically military intelligence community
  • Deep and broad understanding of customers' operations, priorities, short/long term goals, strengths, and weaknesses
  • Broad-based understanding of business environment and business cycles around customer's operations support services
  • Proven capability to act as BD professional for pursuits ranging from $50M and up
  • Experience with IC acquisition processes and development of proposal responses
  • Ability to work in matrixed, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to support business process objectives
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Efficient use of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projects
  • Self-motivated and work independently
